The Cotton Hand Spindle (4605) is lighter in weight and features a smaller whorl than our Wool Drop Spindle (4602). This delicate spindle is used to spin the shorter fibers of cotton, as opposed to the heavier wool drop spindle, which needs more weight to pull the longer fibers. Spinning cotton will take some practice but know that women and young girls have spun fine thread and yarn with hand spindles for centuries. So, give it some time, and you'll be spinning as if it were second nature.
